Some of my current Projects are:

GivingSpace is a think tank which I started to discuss innovative ways of looking at philanthropy and humanitarian activities.  We've had a wonderful array of workshops over the years, including one at the Santa Fe Institute.  I am quite a fan of Sir Tim Berners-Lee, and how he triggered such a global transformation with such simple ideas.  This has been a wonderful, eclectic group of folks, and we've collected quite a library of papers over the years.  I don't do fundraising, but I've accepted support from the Stanford University Reuters Digital Visions Program and Omidyar Foundation for these activities.  Archives our our mailing list are here.

Uplift Academy is a conceptual design of an Internet-based organization to systematically discover and replicate patterns of uplift.  One of the most common patterns I hear is, "You should meet so-and-so.  He/she has so much community energy, is creative, is a connector, intelligent, and could turn the world upside down if they were just given free reign.  The academy would be a place to connect all these folks.  I figure if we can connect the one-in-a-thousand folks who most typify this notion, we would have a pool of about 6.5 million uplift scholars.  If only one in 100 of those really connected, we still have a pretty interesting pool of 65,000 folks.

My Blog  Is really a journal of my ideas in their seed stages.  Sorry, the spammers have taken over the comments, so I've blocked them.

Stanford Reuters Digital Visions Program I was a 2003 fellow, but I still like to hang out up there and use it as my home away from San Diego.  It is a great program, with really exciting folks and projects.  Highly recommended.

Good Apples  positive media syndication.  I am looking at ways of "elevating" public perspectives through Appreciative Inquiry and Positive Psychology models.  Perhaps this could be a syndication means for folks in the Uplift Academy.
