I am including this photo because I like to see who I'm talking with on-line, and I think it improves our ability to relate on line. 

This is a self portrait I took at sunset while sailing solo around San Diego Bay in May, 2004. Behind me, out of focus, is a hospital ship which is running software which I wrote 20 years ago.

I enjoy my grandchildren and family, sailing, traveling, and trying to figure out ways of making the world a better place.  Here is more of my background.
